Mercado number one in Paraguay LNB for round 10

International Rodney Mercado (191-SF-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for Libertad A., receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Atletico C. (#6, 2-8) with 38-point margin 112-74. Libertad A. is placed at 4th position in Paraguayan LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Libertad A. will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Mercado had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Libertad A., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Rodney Mercado has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.1ppg), assists (5th best: 1.4apg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 62.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Thomas Cooper (196-G-1992) of league's second-best Olimpia K.. Cooper had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Olimpia K. to edge the lower-ranked Colonias G. (#5, 6-4) 81-77. Olimpia K.'s second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Cooper is one of the most experienced players at Olimpia K. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Daniel Jara of Atletico C. (#6). Jara showcased his all-around game by recording 11 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and nine assists in the last round. Despite Jara's great performance Atletico C. lost 74-112 to slightly higher-ranked Libertad A. (#4, 6-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Atletico C. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Jara has individually a great season in Paraguay. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.3rpg (9th best).
