LNB Round 13: San Jose defeat Olimpia K. in the closest game of the week

The most exciting game of round 13 in the LNB took place in Asuncion. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of their biggest opponent Olimpia K. (10-3) to leader San Jose (13-0) 79-77 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olimpia K.. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia K.'s 26. 25 personal fouls committed by Olimpia K. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Fernando Dose (200-1994) stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 assists for the winners and Argentinian swingman Lucas Gargallo (196-1995) chipped in 7 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Gabriel Peralta (203-1995) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Undefeated San Jose have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-0 record. Olimpia K. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#4) and Sol de America (#8). Felix Perez (8-5) crushed visiting Sol de America (1-12) by 58 points 106-48. Leonel Bettiga nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Leandro Ferreira accounted for 24 points. Juan Marti came up with 14 points for Sol de America in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez moved-up to third place, which they share with Colonias G. Sol de America at the other side stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: Libertad A. (#5) and Campo Alto (#6). Campo Alto was crushed at home by 20 points 73-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Jorge Sequera fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Libertad A.'s coach Cristian Viveros used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darwinn Rivera produced 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. Libertad A. maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Loser Campo Alto keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Libertad A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Felix Perez.

In the last game of round 13 Colonias G. destroyed Atletico C. on the opponent's court 95-47.
