Felix Perez - Sol de Amer. 93-62 The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#1) and Sol de Amer. (#2). Felix Perez (6-0) crushed visiting Sol de Amer. (3-3) by 31 points 93-62. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de Amer.'s 26. Felix Perez forced 21 Sol de Amer. turnovers and outrebounded them 53-34 including 40 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Sol de Amer.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Jazmin Mercado (171-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 assists and 7 steals. The former international center Ana Britez (174-2002) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Felix Perez players scored in double figures. Pamela Encina (-2005) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ana Doldan added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sol de Amer.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Sol de Amer. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Olimpia. Felix Perez will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sol de Amer. will play against Deportivo SJ and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Olimpia (3-3) 80-65. Olimpia outrebounded Deportivo SJ 48-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international guard Maria Pereira (160-2001) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. International Andrea Gomez (178-1990) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. At the losing side Micaela Sosa responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Agostina Ochipinti (170-2004) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpia moved-up to second place, which they share with Sol de Amer. Deportivo SJ lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Olimpia will play against Libertad (#4) in the next round. Deportivo SJ will play against Sol de Amer. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
