Gabriela Bernal (2007) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sol de Amer., receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 16-year old player had a double-double of 13 points and 20 rebounds, while her team edged out Felix Perez (#1, 8-1) 65-62. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sol de Amer. is placed at 3rd position in Paraguayan Metropolitan League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sol de Amer. will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Bernal as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Gabriela Bernal has solid league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 12.8rpg. Bernal is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.0bpg.
The second best player in last round's games was young international forward Paloma Niz (175-F-1999) of league's second-best Olimpia. Niz had a very good evening with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course she led Olimpia to another comfortable win 61-48 over slightly lower-ranked Libertad (#4, 4-5) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Olimpia consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 5-4 record is not bad at all. Niz is a newcomer at Olimpia, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Joaquina Marin of league's top team Felix Perez. Marin showcased her all-around game by recording 17 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. Despite Marin's great performance Felix Perez lost 62-65 to #3 ranked Sol de Amer.. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Felix Perez had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Marin's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Marin has a great season in Paraguay. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 2.8apg (9th best).
Other top performing players last week:
4. Ana Britez (174-C-2002) of Felix Perez - 12 points and 19 rebounds
5. Maria Perez (165-PG-1999) of Libertad - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
