LNBF 2024 (Matchday 1) - Colonias Gold, Olimpia and Felix Perez Cardozo win in Opening Day

Colonias Gold, Olimpia Queens and Felix Perez Cardozo got the first victories of the 2024 season in Paraguay's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Femenino (LNBF), the country's top Women's League.

Colonias gold defeated Ciudad Nueva 53-50. Agatha Mineiro scored 14 points and added 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals, while Heidi Bohn added 14 more with 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. For Ciudad Nueva, Sol Piris netted 15 points and with 7 boards and a couple of assists.

Meanwhile, Olimpia Queens defeated Sol de America 67-53. Antonella Luraghi (2006) finished up with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals for the winning side, getting support from Gabriela Bernal (2007) with a double double of 14 points and 15 rebounds and Carolina Caraves added another one with 11 points and 10 boards. The top scorers for Sol de America were Paula Moreira with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Paz Godoy with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

Felix Perez Cardozo crushed Deportivo San Jose 93-31. Ximena Ibarra (172-G-2001) led them with 17 points, Joaquina Marin added 13 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, Paloma Niz also scored 13 points off the bench, Pamela Encina (2005) added 11 and Ana Britez (174-C-2002) shined with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. For San Jose, Ana Velazquez (1996) completed a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
