Ana Britez gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan Metropolitan League (by Hoops Agents)

Talented International Center Ana Britez (174-C-2002) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 21-year old center had the game-high 10 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Felix Perez in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Deportivo SJ (#4, 1-1) with 62-point margin 93-31. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Felix Perez to jump to the first place in the Paraguayan Metropolitan League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Felix Perez won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Britez has many years of experience at Felix Perez, through which she has constantly improved. Britez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 13.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.5rpg), assists (9th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 3.0bpg and 76.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Portuguese forward Ana Moreira (186-F-1992) of Sol de America Asuncion. Moreira impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Sol de Amer. lost that game 53-67 to Olimpia (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Moreira is one of the most experienced players at Sol de Amer. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.0ppg (#5). She also registered 4.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Antonella Luraghi (2006) of second-ranked Olimpia Asuncion. Luraghi scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Olimpia, leading her team to a 67-53 easy win against Sol de Amer. (#6, 0-2). Olimpia has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Luraghi also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Luraghi has a great season in Paraguay. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 7.0rpg (5th best).
