Bernal's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

16-year old Gabriela Bernal (2007) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Olimpia Asuncion and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Sol de Amer. (#6, 0-2) with 39-point margin 84-45. Olimpia is placed at 2nd position in Paraguayan Metropolitan League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Olimpia won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Bernal just recently signed at Olimpia and just after two games she already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Bernal has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 18.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 12.5rpg. Bernal is in league's top in and averages solid 1.5bpg and 56.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Ana Britez (174-C-2002) of top-ranked Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion. She is international center in her 3rd season at Felix Perez. In the last game Britez recorded an impressive double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Felix Perez to another comfortable win outscoring Colonias (1-1) 82-31. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Britez is one of the most experienced players at Felix Perez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.0ppg (#6). She also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Olimpia's star - Carolina Caravez. Caravez showcased her all-around game by recording 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Olimpia Asuncion, helping her team with a 84-45 easy win against Sol de Amer. (#6, 0-2). Olimpia has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Caravez also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Caravez has a great season in Paraguay. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.5rpg (3rd best) and assists with 4.5apg (4th best).
