Metropolitan League Round 4 (Regular Season): Ciudad Nueva still unable to win any game

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Bottom-ranked Ciudad Nueva (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 75-43 loss to third ranked Olimpia (3-1) in Asuncion on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Olimpia forced 29 Ciudad Nueva turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Olimpia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international Marta Peralta (171-1994) fired 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Antonella Luraghi (-2006) chipped in 16 points. Maurin Brunett produced 13 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia moved-up to second place, which they share with Deportivo SJ. Ciudad Nueva at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Olimpia is looking forward to face league's second-placed Deportivo SJ in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ciudad Nueva will play against the league's leader Felix Perez (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Asuncion was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Deportivo SJ (3-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Sol de Amer. (1-3). Deportivo SJ managed to secure a 4-point victory 62-58. Worth to mention a great performance of Micaela Sosa who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Adela Cardenas contributed with 7 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Deportivo SJ's coach Cesar Rallo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Venus Brizuela replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds for Sol de Amer.Deportivo SJ have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader Felix Perez, which they share with Olimpia. Sol de Amer. at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Deportivo SJ will play against Olimpia (#3) in Asuncion in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sol de Amer. will play against Colonias and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
