Picton's 18 points and 9 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

31-year old Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (197-F-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Deportivo San Jose Asuncion and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 18 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for San Jose in his team's victory, helping them to crush Ciudad N. (#7, 1-7) with 19-point margin 95-76. It allowed San Jose to consolidate first place in the Paraguayan league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and San Jose keeps a perfect 8-0 record. Picton has many years of experience at San Jose, through which he has constantly improved. Picton has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.0ppg), rebounds (5th best: 6.8rpg) and averages solid 75.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jorge Sequera (194-F-1988) of Libertad Asuncion. He is international forward in his first season at Libertad A.. In the last game Sequera recorded an impressive 20 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Libertad to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Sol de America (#6, 1-6) 102-52. Libertad's 5th position in the standings has not changed. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Libertad managed to get this year. Sequera is one of the most experienced players at Libertad and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#2). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Rodney Mercado (191-SF-1999) of league's second-best Olimpia Kings. Mercado scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Olimpia K., leading his team to a 66-58 win against #3 ranked Colonias in a game of the week. Olimpia K. is closer and closer to top of the standings.
