The former international guard Ximena Ibarra (172-2001) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Felix Perez's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Uruguayan Paula Moreira produced 18 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Undefeated Felix Perez (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Sol de Amer. at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Sol de Amer. will play next round against Ciudad Nueva trying to get back on the winning streak. Felix Perez will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Olimpia. It will be extra interesting game as Olimpia is their local rival from Asuncion.
Leader Olimpia delivered the fifth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Colonias (1-4) 93-49 in Asuncion. Worth to mention a great performance of Antonella Luraghi (-2006) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Gabriela Bernal contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Agatha Mineiro answered with 5 points and 8 rebounds for Colonias. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Olimpia. Despite that victory Olimpia went down to second position due to points difference. Newly promoted Colonias keep the fifth place with four games lost. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Felix Perez.
Bottom-ranked Ciudad Nueva (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 69-46 loss to third ranked Deportivo SJ (4-2) in on Tuesday evening. It was a great evening for Jael Benitez who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side Sol Piris responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Deportivo SJ maintains third place with 4-2 record behind leader Felix Perez. Ciudad Nueva lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Deportivo SJ will meet Colonias (#5) in the next round. Ciudad Nueva will play against Sol de Amer. in Asuncion and hopes to get finally their first victory.
