Ana Britez gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan Metropolitan League

Talented International Center Ana Britez (174-C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 21-year old center had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Sol de Amer. (#4, 2-4) with 46-point margin 93-47. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Felix Perez to jump to the first place in the Paraguayan Metropolitan League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Felix Perez already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. Britez has many years of experience at Felix Perez, through which she has constantly improved. Britez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 11.8ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.2rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 71.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Uruguayan Paula Moreira of Sol de America Asuncion. Moreira impressed basketball fans with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Sol de Amer. lost that game 47-93 to league's leader Felix Perez (#1, 5-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Sol de Amer. still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Moreira is a newcomer at Sol de Amer. and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.7ppg (#3). She also registered 6.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Antonella Luraghi (2006) of second-ranked Olimpia Asuncion. Luraghi showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Olimpia, leading her team to a 93-49 easy win against the lower-ranked Colonias (#5, 1-4). Olimpia is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Luraghi has a great season in Paraguay. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.7ppg (best scorer) and assists with 3.0apg (8th best). She also has 2.7spg and a FGP of 67.6%.
