Bernal number one in Paraguay Metropolitan League for round 9 (by Hoops Agents)

Gabriela Bernal (2007) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Olimpia Asuncion, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 16-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Ciudad Nueva (#6, 0-7) with 28-point margin 62-34. Olimpia maintains the 2nd position in Paraguayan Metropolitan League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Olimpia will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Bernal just recently signed at Olimpia, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Gabriela Bernal has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 14.7ppg) and averages impressive 2.7bpg and 55.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international center Ana Britez (174-C-2002) of league's leader Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion. Britez had a very good evening with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Of course she led Felix Perez to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Deportivo SJ (#3, 4-3) 72-31. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Felix Perez consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Felix Perez managed to win all 9 games keeping a perfect record. Britez is one of the most experienced players at Felix Perez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Felix Perez's star - international forward Paloma Niz (175-F-1999). Niz scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. She was another key player of Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion, helping her team with a 96-57 easy win against #4 ranked Sol de Amer.. Felix Perez have amazing season winning all 9 games without a single defeat. Niz turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Niz has a great season in Paraguay. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 11.9ppg (8th best) and assists with 2.9apg (8th best).
