Cardenas' double-double lands her Player of the Week award

24-year old center Adela Cardenas (180-C-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for Deportivo San Jose and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
She had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Sol de Amer. (#4, 4-6) with 18-point margin 78-60. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Deportivo SJ maintains the 3rd position in Paraguayan Metropolitan League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Deportivo SJ will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. Cardenas just recently signed at Deportivo SJ, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cardenas has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 8.3rpg) and averages solid 50.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Micaela Sosa. She is a in her first (recently joined) season at Deportivo SJ. In the last game Sosa recorded an impressive double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Of course together with Cardenas she helped Deportivo San Jose with another comfortable win 78-60 over slightly lower-ranked Sol de Amer. (#4, 4-6) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Deportivo SJ consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 6-4 record is not bad at all. Sosa is one of the most experienced players at Deportivo SJ and similarly like Adela Cardenas has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.2ppg (#6). She also registered 7.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ana Moreira (186-F-1992) of Sol de America Asuncion (#4). Moreira scored 17 points. Despite Moreira's great performance the Sol de Amer. lost 60-78 to #3 ranked Deportivo SJ. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Sol de Amer. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Moreira could help Sol de Amer. to bring them higher in the standings. Moreira has a great season in Paraguay. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.8ppg (best scorer).
