Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most shocking disappointment of round 4 was a defeat of league's leader Ciudad N. (1-2). They were defeated by fourth ranked Libertad (3-1) 63-53 on Monday night. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Jorge Sequera (194-1988) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Federico Mellonex (193-1985) who added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Juan Marti responded with 13 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Libertad moved-up to second place. Ciudad N. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Colonias. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Jose. Ciudad N. will play next round against Felix Perez trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion - Felix Perez. Libertad will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked San Jose as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Jose defeated much higher ranked Colonias in Asuncion 75-61. The winners were led by the former international forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) who scored that evening 25 points and 6 rebounds and Alejandro Peralta supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds by international center Juan Poisson (198-1998) did not help to save the game for Colonias. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Colonias at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Ciudad N.. Colonias will play next round against Sol de America trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion - Sol de America. San Jose will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Olimpia K.. It will be extra interesting game as Olimpia K. is their local rival from Asuncion.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#3) and Sol de America (#7). Felix Perez (1-3) smashed visiting Sol de America (0-3) by 43 points 93-50. Mauricio Escurra fired 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Alejandro Acosta produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side.
