Franco Benitez gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB

Argentinian Forward Franco Benitez (199-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Deportivo San Jose Asuncion and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 30-year old forward had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds for San Jose in his team's victory, helping them to beat Colonias (#5, 1-2) 75-61. It allowed San Jose to jump to the first place in the Paraguayan LNB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but San Jose already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Benitez had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at San Jose and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Benitez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.8ppg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another San Jose's star - young international forward Alejandro Peralta (195-F-1991, agency: Interperformances). Peralta impressed basketball fans with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Benitez he helped Deportivo San Jose Asuncion with another comfortable win 75-61 over the lower-ranked Colonias (#5, 1-2) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed San Jose to move up to 1st position in the standings. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Peralta is well-known by San Jose fans and together with Franco Benitez they both established positions among team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 11.3ppg (#6). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international center Juan Poisson (198-C-1998) of Colonias Gold (#5). Poisson scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Poisson's great performance the Colonias lost 61-75 to the league's current leader San Jose (#1, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Colonias not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Poisson could try to bring Colonias' a little bit higher in the standings. Poisson has individually a great season in Paraguay. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.7rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 5.0apg (best passer).
