There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated San Jose (9-1) in Asuncion on Monday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Olimpia K. (8-2) 80-77. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of San Jose. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. 30 personal fouls committed by San Jose helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Gabriel Peralta (203-1995) who added 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Olimpia K.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Edgar Riveros (184-1991) with 16 points. Olimpia K. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record behind leader San Jose. Defending champion San Jose still keeps top place with one game lost. Olimpia K.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Sol de America.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#5) and Ciudad N. (#6). Felix Perez (5-6) smashed visiting Ciudad N. (2-7) by 35 points 93-58. The winners were led by American forward Darry Moore (201-2001, college: ETBU) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 rebounds and Jefferson Arguello supported him with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Even 12 points by Francisco Bogarin did not help to save the game for Ciudad N.. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez maintains fifth position with 5-6 record. Ciudad N. at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Felix Perez's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Libertad.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Asuncion: Colonias (#3) and Sol de America (#7). Sol de America was smashed at home by 38 points 63-101 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was Andres Valencia who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Henry Leiva who recorded 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Colonias maintains third position with 6-4 record having just three points less than leader San Jose. Loser Sol de America still closes the standings with ten games lost. Colonias' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Ciudad N..
