Ricardo Sarubbi gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB

International Ricardo Sarubbi (1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 26-year old had the game-high 19 points adding seven rebounds and seven assists for Felix Perez in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Libertad A. (#5, 5-6) 76-73. Felix Perez is placed at 4th position in Paraguayan LNB. Felix Perez is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-6 record. In the team's last game Sarubbi had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Sarubbi has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 4.7apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Dwayne Russell (203-F-1998) of Colonias Gold. Russell impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Colonias to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Ciudad N. (#6, 2-8) 97-61. Colonias' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 7-4 record is not bad at all. Russell is a newcomer at Colonias and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#1). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Jorge Sequera (194-F-1988) of Libertad Asuncion (#5). Sequera showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Sequera's great performance the Libertad lost 73-76 to slightly higher-ranked Felix Perez (#4, 6-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Libertad ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sequera could help Libertad A. to bring them higher in the standings. Sequera has a great season in Paraguay. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.5ppg (4th best), rebounds with 6.6rpg (7th best) and assists with 3.4apg (6th best).
