San Jose recorded a loss in Asuncion on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Colonias 82-71. Colonias made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds. American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for the guests. Gabriel Peralta contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Olimpia K.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Darry Moore (201-2001, college: ETBU) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for Felix Perez. Olimpia K.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose.
