There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in LNB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: San Jose (#1) and Felix Perez (#4). Felix Perez was defeated at home 77-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. 26 personal fouls committed by Felix Perez helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Dishon Lowery (200-1998, college: OKBU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and the former international forward Alejandro Peralta (195-1991, agency: Interperformances) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Colombian Carlos Morales (192-2001) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Felix Perez's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Felix Perez lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. San Jose's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Colonias.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#2) and Colonias (#3). Olimpia K. (12-4) smashed visiting Colonias (11-5) by 19 points 69-50. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Colonias. The winners were led by the former international forward Gabriel Peralta (203-1995) who scored that evening 19 points and 8 rebounds and Rodney Mercado supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Olimpia K.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by international center Juan Poisson (198-1998) did not help to save the game for Colonias. Olimpia K. maintains second position with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader San Jose. Colonias at the other side keep the third place with five games lost. Olimpia K.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Felix Perez.
