Gabriel Peralta gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB (Second Stage)

Naturalized Argentinian Forward Gabriel Peralta (203-F-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best Olimpia Kings and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while his team edged out Felix Perez (#4, 6-11) 78-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Olimpia K. maintains the 2nd position in Paraguayan LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Olimpia K. will need more victories to improve their 13-4 record. It's Peralta's second year at Olimpia K. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Peralta has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.5ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.2rpg) and averages solid 56.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Darry Moore (201-F-2001) of Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion. Moore impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Felix Perez was edged by slightly higher-ranked Olimpia K. (#2, 13-4) 78-74. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Felix Perez still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-11 record. Moore is a newcomer at Felix Perez and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.0ppg (#1). He also registered 8.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Felix Perez's star - Leonardo Ycassatti (188-G-2003). Ycassatti scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Despite Ycassatti's great performance the Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion lost 74-78 to #2 ranked Olimpia K.. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Felix Perez not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ycassatti could try to bring Felix Perez's a little bit higher in the standings. Ycassatti has a very solid season. In 17 games in Paraguay he scored 8.9ppg.
