Niz's 21 points and 9 rebounds give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old forward Paloma Niz (175-F-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
She had the game-high 21 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Felix Perez in her team's victory, helping them to beat Olimpia (5-1) 62-48. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Felix Perez to consolidate first place in the Paraguayan LNBF. Felix Perez have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Niz had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Felix Perez's top player in her first season with the team. Niz has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 16.2ppg), assists (6th best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Cecilia Aguero of Deportivo San Jose. She is a in her first season at Deportivo SJ. In the last game Aguero recorded an impressive 7 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Deportivo SJ to edge Sol de Amer. (1-5) by 6 points 56-50. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Deportivo SJ consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Deportivo SJ managed to get this year. Aguero is a newcomer at Deportivo SJ and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to center Gabriela Bernal (188-C-2007) of league's second-best Olimpia Asuncion. Bernal scored 9 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Bernal's great performance the Olimpia lost 48-62 to #1 ranked Felix Perez. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Olimpia had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Bernal's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Bernal has a great season in Paraguay. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.3ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (#1 in league). She also has 1.7bpg and a FGP of 52.8%.
