Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 7 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Luqueno (2-7) by fourth ranked San Alfonso (3-6) who outscored them by 15 points 78-63 in the game for the fourth place. It was a great evening for the former international Maxsuel Roque who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Argentinian guard Nicolas Reyero (183-2004) helped adding 18 points and 10 assists. At the losing side Oscar Toro responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Luqueno's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted San Alfonso maintains fourth place with 3-6 record. Luqueno lost fourth consecutive game. Luqueno at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. San Alfonso are looking forward to face higher ranked Campo Alto (#3) in Asuncion in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Luqueno will play against Central and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for Venezuelan Eduardo Rios (198-1988) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Elias Martinez accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Hugo Ramos came up with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Amambay in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ciudad N. maintains fourth place with 2-5 record. Amambay lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with four games lost. Ciudad N. will play against Guairena (#5) in the next round. Amambay will have a break next round.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Asuncion: Olimpia K. (#1) and Colonias (#2). Olimpia K. (10-0) won against visiting Colonias (8-2) 90-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Colonias. Daviyon Draper fired 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Stanley Scott produced 17 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Colonias' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Olimpia K. have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Loser Colonias keep the second position with two games lost.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Felix Perez destroyed Guairena on the opponent's court 90-67. Felix Perez outscored Amambay in a home game 95-74. Colonias rolled over San Alfonso on the road 82-48. Campo Alto defeated Luqueno on its own court 71-63. Olimpia K. smashed Central in Asuncion 82-25.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points and 20 rebounds by William Burgos of Olimpia K..



Guairena - Felix Perez 67-90

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Guairena (0-7) was crushed at home by second ranked Felix Perez (5-2) 90-67 on Thursday. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Guairena's 38. Felix Perez forced 19 Guairena turnovers. Argentinian center Nicolas Burgos (207-2003) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Uruguayan guard Hernan Alvarez (182-1999) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Four Felix Perez players scored in double figures. Felix Perez's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Jonatan Cisneros produced 28 points and 5 rebounds and Diego Ortega added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Felix Perez have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Olimpia K. Newly promoted Guairena still closes the standings with seven games lost.
