Wood's double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

39-year old American Jeremiah Wood (201-C/F-1985) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Olimpia Kings and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Felix Perez (#4, 0-1), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 86-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Olimpia K. to take over top position in the Paraguayan league. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Olimpia K. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Wood just recently signed at Olimpia K., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Wood has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.1rpg) and averages solid 65.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Luis Molas of Guairena Basquet Club. He is a in his first season at Guairena. In the last game Molas recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he led Guairena to another comfortable win outscoring San Alfonso (3-9) 89-53. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Molas is one of the most experienced players at Guairena and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Guairena's star - Diego Ortega. Ortega scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was another key player of Guairena Basquet Club, helping his team with a 89-53 easy win against San Alfonso (#7, 3-9). Ortega has individually a great season in Paraguay. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 8.7rpg (4th best).
