Mercado number one in Paraguay LNB for round 2

International Rodney Mercado (191-SF-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Olimpia Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Colonias (#3, 10-4) with 17-point margin 84-67. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Olimpia K. to take over top position in the Paraguayan LNB. It's already very far into the season and Olimpia K. keeps a perfect 14-0 record. Mercado has many years of experience at Olimpia K., through which he has constantly improved.

The second best player in last round's games was Kal Godans of Deportivo Campo Alto Asuncion. Godans had a very good evening with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led Campo Alto to another comfortable win outscoring Guairena (1-9) 85-51. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Godans is one of the most experienced players at Campo Alto and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Juan Poisson (198-C-1998) of Colonias Gold (#3). Poisson showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Poisson's great performance the Colonias lost 67-84 to #1 ranked Olimpia K.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Colonias needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 4 lost games. Poisson has a very solid season. In 14 games in Paraguay he scored 10.3ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and a FGP of 59.7%.
