Ventura's 22 points and 9 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

21-year old Brazilian guard Osmar Ventura (190-G-2004) put on an amazing game in the last round for Deportivo Amambay (they play in Places 5-10) and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 22 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Amambay as his team was edged out by Ciudad N. (#5, 9-8) 79-77. Amambay moved-up to the 7th position in Paraguayan league. Amambay is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 8th lost game this season out of 16 games. In the team's last game Ventura had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Amambay, through which he has constantly improved. Ventura has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.8ppg), rebounds (6th best: 9.2rpg) and averages solid 53.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Edegar Alvarenga. He is naturalized Brazilian in his first season at Amambay. In the last game Alvarenga recorded an impressive 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Deportivo Amambay was edged by slightly higher-ranked Ciudad N. (#5, 9-8) 79-77. This loss caused Amambay to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Alvarenga is one of the most experienced players at Amambay and similarly like Osmar Ventura has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
