Wood number one in Paraguay LNB for round 1

American Jeremiah Wood (201-C/F-1985) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Olimpia Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 40-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass San Alfonso (#5, 1-1) with 29-point margin 111-82. Olimpia K. is placed at 2nd position in Paraguayan LNB. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Olimpia K. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Wood turned to be Olimpia K.'s top player in his first season with the team. Jeremiah Wood has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.5rpg), assists (3rd best: 4.5apg) and averages impressive 77.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was international Maxsuel Roque of Basket San Alfonso. Roque had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as San Alfonso lost that game 82-111 to Olimpia K. (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Roque is a newcomer at San Alfonso, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.5ppg (#9). He also registered 13.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Fernando Dose (200-F-1994) of Deportivo San Jose Asuncion (#3). Dose scored 27 points. He was a key player of San Jose, leading his team to a 93-60 easy win against Campo Alto (#8, 0-2). San Jose has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Dose also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Dose has a great season in Paraguay. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.5ppg (8th best). Fernando Dose has also Paraguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
