Desmond Holloway gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB

Experienced American Desmond Holloway (194-SF-1990) put on an amazing game in the last round for Basket San Alfonso and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 35-year old had the game-high 30 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for San Alfonso in his team's victory, helping them to beat Luqueno (#6, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 76-68. San Alfonso is placed at 5th position in Paraguayan LNB. San Alfonso is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Holloway had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be San Alfonso's top player in his first season with the team. Coastal Carolina College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Holloway is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.0ppg. Holloway is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.0rpg), assists (6th best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 71.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Joao Lima of Sportivo Luqueno. Lima impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Luqueno lost that game 68-76 to San Alfonso (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Lima is a newcomer at Luqueno and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.0ppg (#2). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Juan Marti of Deportivo Campo Alto Asuncion (#8). Marti scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Marti's great performance the Campo Alto lost 45-83 to Olimpia K. (#2, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Marti has a very solid season. In 2 games in Paraguay he scored 16.0ppg.
