Campo Alto made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Ciudad N. turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Ciudad N. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Karl Godans (190) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. Jefferson Arguello helped adding 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. At the losing side Elias Martinez responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Newly promoted Campo Alto maintains seventh place with 2-4 record. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Charles Hinkle (198-1988, college: American) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Tobias Gomez accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American swingman Austin Wrighten (192-1996, college: Lynchburg) came up with 18 points and 5 assists for San Jose in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Olimpia K. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. San Jose at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Colonias (5-1) 103-53 on Monday evening. Tiago Tischler fired 13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Magno Farias produced 17 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Colonias maintains second place with 5-1 record having just three points less than leader Olimpia K. Luqueno lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Colonias will meet at home San Alfonso (#6) in the next round. Luqueno will play against San Jose in Asuncion and hopes to get finally their first victory.
