It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Amambay. Felix Perez dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Amambay's 22. It was a good game for Anthony Strings who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Brazilian guard Osmar Ventura (190-2004) answered with 9 points and 11 rebounds for Amambay. Amambay's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Colonias (#2) and Campo Alto (#7). Campo Alto was crushed at home by 31 points 82-113 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tiago Tischler stepped up and scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Ricardo Sarubbi chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was Colombian Carlos Morales (192-2001) with 15 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Colonias have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-1 record behind leader Olimpia K. Newly promoted Campo Alto keeps the seventh position with six games lost. LNB top team - Olimpia K. (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Luqueno (0-8) 74-40. Jeremiah Wood nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Santiago Peralta came up with 15 points and 4 assists for Luqueno in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Olimpia K. have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Loser Luqueno still closes the standings with eight games lost. Olimpia K. will meet San Alfonso (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Luqueno will have a break next round.
In the last game of round 9 San Jose smashed San Alfonso on the road 89-44.
