Givens number one in Paraguay LNB for round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Samuel Givens (198-F-1989) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Colonias Gold, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat San Jose (#3, 10-3) 77-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Colonias maintains the 2nd position in Paraguayan LNB. They are still close to the very top. Colonias would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 11-2 record. In the team's last game Givens had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Colonias' top player in his first season with the team. Former Drexel University star has very solid stats this year. Givens is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 7.9rpg) and averages impressive 64.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Dominique Morrison (198-SF-1989, agency: Haylett Sports) of Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion. Morrison had a very good evening with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Felix Perez to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked San Alfonso (#6, 5-9) 127-70. This victory allowed Felix Perez to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 8-6 record is not bad at all. Morrison is a newcomer at Felix Perez, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#1). He also registered 6.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Felix Perez's star - American forward Justin Strings (201-F-1996). Strings scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was another key player of Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion, helping his team with a 127-70 easy win against slightly lower-ranked San Alfonso (#6, 5-9). Felix Perez needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 6 lost games. The season just started for Strings as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.
