Silva's 17 points and 7 rebounds give him Player of the Week award

Diego Silva put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Colonias Gold and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had the game-high 17 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for Colonias in his team's victory, helping them to beat San Alfonso (#6, 5-10) 96-83. Colonias maintains the 2nd position in Paraguayan league. They are still close to the very top. Colonias would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 13-2 record. Silva turned to be Colonias' top player in his first season with the team. Silva has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.0ppg), assists (7th best: 3.1apg) and averages solid 44.9% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Guillermo Araujo (204-C-1982) of Deportivo Campo Alto Asuncion. He is international center in his first season at Campo Alto. In the last game Araujo recorded an impressive 26 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Campo Alto cruised to a 74-64 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Ciudad N. (#8, 3-13). Campo Alto's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Campo Alto managed to get this year. Araujo is a newcomer at Campo Alto and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Silvio Moura of Basket San Alfonso (#6). Moura showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Moura's great performance the San Alfonso lost 83-96 to the higher-ranked Colonias (#2, 13-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of San Alfonso not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Moura could try to bring San Alfonso's a little bit higher in the standings. Moura has a very solid season. In 15 games in Paraguay he scored 11.4ppg.
