Charles Hinkle gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNB (Second Stage)

Experienced American Charles Hinkle (198-G-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for Olimpia Kings and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 37-year old guard had a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out San Jose (#4, 0-2), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 92-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Olimpia K. moved-up to the 3rd position in Paraguayan LNB. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Olimpia K. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Hinkle had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Olimpia K.'s top player in his first season with the team. The American University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hinkle is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.8ppg. Hinkle is in league's top in and averages solid 61.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Carlos Lopez of Atletico Ciudad Nueva. Lopez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Ciudad N. lost that game 70-86 to San Alfonso (1-0). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Lopez is a newcomer at Ciudad N. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.8ppg (#9). He also registered 9.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Desmond Holloway (194-SF-1990) of Basket San Alfonso (#8). Holloway showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of San Alfonso, leading his team to a 86-70 easy win against Ciudad N. (#7, 0-1). San Alfonso has a very good start of the Second Stage. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Holloway also has a very good start of the Second Stage with very strong stats. Holloway has a great season in Paraguay. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (3rd best).
