Givens' double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

36-year old American forward Samuel Givens (198-F-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Colonias Gold and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Olimpia K. (17-2) 87-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Colonias to consolidate first place in the Paraguayan league. Colonias have a solid 17-2 record. Givens turned to be Colonias' top player in his first season with the team. Drexel University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Givens is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.6ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.9rpg) and averages solid 62.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Carlos Lopez of Atletico Ciudad Nueva. He is a in his first season at Ciudad N.. In the last game Lopez recorded an impressive double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Ciudad N. lost that game 66-75 to Amambay (11-8). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Lopez is a newcomer at Ciudad N. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Osmar Ventura (190-G-2004) of Deportivo Amambay (#5). Ventura showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Amambay, leading his team to a 113-71 easy win against San Alfonso (#6, 7-12). Amambay needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 8 lost games. Ventura has a great season in Paraguay. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 9.2rpg (2nd best).
