Marta Peralta gets MVP of the Week award for Paraguayan LNBF

Experienced International Shooting guard Marta Peralta (171-SG-1994) put on an amazing game in the last round for Olimpia Asuncion and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 31-year old shooting guard had a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds, while her team crushed Sol de Amer. (#4, 2-6) with 18-point margin 69-51. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Olimpia maintains the 3rd position in Paraguayan LNBF. Olimpia is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. In the team's last game Peralta had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Olimpia and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Peralta has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 13.4ppg) and averages solid 3.6spg and 51.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Trinity Baptise of league's best team Felix Perez Cardozo Asuncion. Baptise impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course she led Felix Perez to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Deportivo SJ (#2, 6-2) 82-57. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Felix Perez consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Felix Perez managed to win all 8 games keeping a perfect record. Baptise is a newcomer at Felix Perez and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#1). She also registered 6.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Bolivian Gabriela Herbas (181-C-2002) of second-ranked Deportivo San Jose. Herbas scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Herbas' great performance the Deportivo SJ lost 57-82 to #1 ranked Felix Perez. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Deportivo SJ needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Herbas has a very solid season. In 2 games in Paraguay she scored 16.5ppg.
