Givens number one in Paraguay LNB for round 3 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Samuel Givens (198-F-1989) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Colonias Gold, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Felix Perez (#4, 10-13) 81-73. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Colonias to consolidate first place in the Paraguayan LNB. Colonias has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 19-2. In the team's last game Givens had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Colonias' top player in his first season with the team. Former Drexel University star has very solid stats this year. Givens is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.1ppg), rebounds (5th best: 8.3rpg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Brazilian Osmar Ventura (190-G-2004) of Deportivo Amambay. Ventura had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Amambay to another comfortable win outscoring Campo Alto (6-16) 110-73. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Ventura is a newcomer at Amambay, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#6). He also registered 9.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Amambay's star - Hugo Ramos. Ramos scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was another key player of Deportivo Amambay, helping his team with a 110-73 easy win against Campo Alto (#7, 6-16). Amambay needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 8 lost games. Ramos has a great season in Paraguay. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.5ppg (9th best) and assists with 4.5apg (best passer).
