LNB is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 7 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Olimpia K. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Olimpia K. defeated 7th ranked San Alfonso in Asuncion 80-67. Olimpia K. dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to San Alfonso's 22. Olimpia K. had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by San Alfonso's players. Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (197-1992) fired 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jeremiah Wood (201-1985) chipped in 16 points. Maxsuel Urnau produced 9 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. San Alfonso lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. They share the position with Ciudad N.. San Alfonso will play next round against Ciudad N. trying to get back on the winning streak. Olimpia K. will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Campo Alto. It will be extra interesting game as Campo Alto is their local rival from Asuncion.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Felix Perez (#4) and Ciudad N. (#7). Felix Perez (4-3) crushed visiting Ciudad N. (1-6) by 30 points 92-62. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds. Adolfo Lopez contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Jorge Sequera (194-1988) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for Ciudad N.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Felix Perez maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. Ciudad N. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with San Alfonso. Felix Perez's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose.

Campo Alto was defeated at home 88-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for Hans Feder who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 4 assists. Colonias' coach Juan Bidarra used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Nicolas Reyero responded with 9 points and 12 assists. Colonias (5-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with San Jose. Campo Alto at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Colonias will meet Amambay (#5) in the next round. Campo Alto's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion Olimpia K..

In the last game of round 7 San Jose defeated Amambay in Asuncion 81-74.



Amambay - San Jose 74-81

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Amambay (3-4) was defeated at home by third ranked San Jose (5-1) 81-74 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Robin Perry who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. International forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) helped adding 11 points and 15 rebounds. At the losing side Eduardo Marques responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Hugo Ramos scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Amambay players scored in double figures. San Jose have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Colonias. Amambay at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. San Jose's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Felix Perez.
