Garate comes back to Real Club

Marielka Garate

Universidad de Lima / Real Club de Lima (Liga de Lima) added to their roster 24-year old Venezuelan international power forward Marielka Garate (183-95). It is actually her comeback to Lima as she has played here before. Garate played last summer at Real Club in Peruvian Liga Nacional. Liga de Lima will be definitely a better match and she can see more playing time. She helped them to make it to the final. Garate also played for Real Club (also in Liga Nacional).
She won Peruvian Liga de Lima Clausura championship title in 2018.
Garate has been also a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. She has regularly played for Venezuelan senior team since 2013 and previously for U16 National Team in 2011.
Garate represented Venezuela at the South American Championships in Tunja (Colombia) last year. Her stats at that event were 5 games: 2.0ppg, 3.6rpg.
Garate has played previously professionally also in Venezuela (Anzoategui, Bucaneras and Osas).
