Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Sixth-ranked Grises (7-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Vaqueros (16-6) in Humacao on Tuesday. The visitors from Bayamon managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) fired 22 points and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Benito Santiago (197-1989, college: Cumberlands) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. point guard Luis Rivera (185-1997, college: Miami Dade CC) produced 17 points and 7 assists for lost side. Grises' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-6 record. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Vaqueros are looking forward to face Mets (#5) in Guaynabo in the next round. Grises will play at home against Brujos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Guaynabo. Fifth ranked Gigantes (9-11) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging their close opponent Mets (9-13) 100-98 in the game for the fourth place. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. Alade Aminu contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Gigantes' coach Carlos Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Renaldo Balkman (201-1984, college: S.Carolina) answered with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for Mets. Gigantes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Mets lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Gigantes will play against higher ranked Piratas (#3) in Quebradillas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mets will play at home against the league's leader Vaqueros and hope to get back on the winning track.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santurce. Second ranked Cangrejeros faced their close opponent Cariduros. Host Cangrejeros (12-11) defeated guests from Fajardo (11-12) 83-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great evening for Filiberto Rivera who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. At the losing side Terrence Jones responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Cangrejeros maintains second place with 12-11 record having three points less than leader Arecibo. Cariduros at the other side dropped to the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Mayaguez. Cangrejeros will meet Atleticos (#4) in the next round. Cariduros will play against Indios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 19 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Humacao were defeated by Arecibo in a road game 87-73. Guayama was beaten by Ponce at home 80-90. Fajardo lost to Quebradillas on the opponent's court 84-93. Santurce managed to outperform Guaynabo in a home game 96-89.
The best stats of 19th round was 17 points and 18 rebounds by Cheick Diallo of Santurce.



Santurce - Fajardo 83-79

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santurce. Second ranked Cangrejeros faced their close opponent Cariduros. Host Cangrejeros (12-11) defeated guests from Fajardo (11-12) 83-79. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-1982, college: UTEP) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. The former international guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-1990, college: Canisius) helped adding 22 points. Five Cangrejeros and four Cariduros players scored in double figures. Cangrejeros maintains second place with 12-11 record having three points less than leader Arecibo. Important game to mention about took place in Guaynabo. Fifth ranked Gigantes (9-11) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging their close opponent Mets (9-13) 100-98 in the game for the fourth place. Gigantes made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Mets outrebounded Gigantes 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Mets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. There was no surprise in Arecibo where 6th ranked Grises (7-15) were defeated by first ranked Capitanes (14-8) 87-73 on Sunday. It was a great evening for naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman David Huertas (196-1987, college: Ole Miss) helped adding 17 points. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the losing side international center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) responded with 5 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Darion Spottsville (193, college: EMU) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-8 record. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Capitanes will meet at home league's second-placed Leones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grises will play against Brujos (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game in Guayama where third ranked Leones (14-9) defeated 6th ranked Brujos (5-16) 90-80 on Monday. It was a great evening for the former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 9 assists. American center Marcus Lee (208-1994, college: California) helped adding 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Leones' coach Wilhelmus Caanen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized American swingman Jahvari Josiah (193-1993, college: Coppin St., agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Ben McCauley (206-1986, college: NC State) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Leones moved-up to second place, which they share with Quebradillas. Loser Brujos keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Leones will meet league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brujos will play against Grises (#6) in Humacao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Quebradillas where their biggest opponent Cariduros (11-12) were defeated by third ranked Piratas (14-9) 93-84 on Monday. Piratas made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized American forward Phillip Wheeler (204-2002) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) helped adding 9 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. At the losing side international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Lamar Patterson (196-1991, college: Pittsburgh) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Piratas moved-up to second place, which they share with Ponce. Loser Cariduros dropped to the third position with 12 games lost. They share it with Mayaguez.
