Cangrejeras sign Kayla Thornton, ex Maccabi R.Hen

Kayla Thornton

Cangrejeras de Santurce (BSNF) signed 24-year old American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP). She played last season at Maccabi R.Hen in Israeli D1 league. In 29 games she had very impressive stats: 16.7ppg, 7.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.9spg. Thornton helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. They also played in the Cup final. Quite impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others her college team won C-USA Tournament in 2012. Thornton was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League 1st Team in 2015.
She has played previously professionally in WNBA (Washington Mystics) and Puerto Rico (Montaneras).
Thornton attended Univ.of Texas at El Paso until 2014 and it will be her third season as a professional player.
