Tu Holloway
TU HOLLOWAY

American Guard Tu Holloway (183-G-89) had an amazing evening in the last week for top-ranked Quebradillas, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for week 1 (Second Stage).
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, two rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Ponce (#2, 0-1), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 101-87. It allowed Quebradillas to take over top position in the Puerto Rican BSN. But it's just the very beginning of the Second Stage and Quebradillas won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next week. In the team's last game Holloway had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Quebradillas' top player in his first season with the team. Former Xavier University star has very solid stats this year. Holloway is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.2ppg) and averages impressive 55.4% FGP.

The second best player in last week's games was 32-year old U.S. Virgin Islands Walter Hodge (183-PG-86) of Group B second-ranked Arecibo. Hodge had a very good evening with 34 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Arecibo to edge Fajardo (0-1) 104-100. His team has extremely good start of the Second Stage. They won their first game. However the Second Stage is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Hodge is a newcomer at Arecibo, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.4ppg (#5). He also recorded 4.6 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was Jamaican forward Adrian Uter (201-F/C-84, agency: BeoBasket) of Group B second-best Ponce. Uter scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Uter's great performance Ponce lost 87-101 to #1 ranked Quebradillas. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Ponce can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A. They have awful Second Stage losing so far all 1 games. Too bad for Uter he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Uter has a very solid season. In 19 games in Puerto Rico he scored 10.6ppg. He also has 6.2rpg, 3.1apg, 1.2bpg and FGP: 58.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Huertas (195-G/F-87) of Arecibo - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Angel Daniel Vassallo (198-G/F-86) of Ponce - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Reyshawn Terry (203-F-84) of Quebradillas - 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Carlos Arroyo (188-PG-79) of Fajardo - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists
8. Dwayne Davis (196-F-89) of Bayamon - 15 points and 6 rebounds
9. Ismael Romero (203-C-91) of Bayamon - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Christopher Gaston (201-PF-89) of Aguada - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
