BSN President Fernando Quinones announced that he is evaluating to start the 2019 season on April or September.

In case of an April start the league is scheduled to end by July since the Puerto Rican National Team will play in the Pan-American Games. Puerto Rico could also play in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in August, but need a couple of more wins in the Americas Qualifiers to get there.

Quinones also talked to start on September of 2019 and end the tournament by the middle of 2020. This would put BSN in-line with many domestic leagues around the world.

The Board of Directors of the league is responsible of approving the tournament date and format. Their next meeting is scheduled at the end of this month.

This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Brujos (2-5) to first ranked Piratas (6-1) 89-86 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The g...   [read more]

David Huertas selected the top Puerto Rican playing abroad in last week's games - 2 days ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Puerto Ricans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international swingman David Huertas (195-87). He could not help Fuerza Regia (31-9) in their last game. Despite Huertas' very good performance the first-placed Fuerza Regia (31-9) was edged 85-84 on the road by the lower-ranked (#3) Lenadores in the North group.    [read more]
Quebradillas is onfire - 3 days ago
Piratas of Quebradillas with a 16 points comeback a win yesterday in Guayama, convert them into the most hot team in the first 3 weeks in the tournament. Quebradillas leads the leaderboard with 6-1 guided by point guard Melo Trimble and forward Brian Conklin. Also Quebradillas' bench is making a great job maintining the tempo of the game in both areas, defensive and offensive. Coach Eddie Casiano without the last season MVP Rayshawn Terry is winning games and will have a sweet problem wh...   [read more]
