Ponce lands Nick Minnerath, ex Xinjiang FT - Jan 14, 2019

NICK MINNERATH

Leones de Ponce (BSN) tabbed 30-year old American power forward Nick Minnerath (207-98kg-88, college: Detroit Mercy). He played recently at Xinjiang Flying Tigers in Chinese CBA league. In four games he averaged impressive 16.3ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.0spg this season. The last season Minnerath played at Sharks (also in CBA) where in 40 games he had very remarkable stats: 27.4ppg and 8.4rpg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Among other achievements Minnerath's team made it to the D-League Semifinals in 2016. He received also Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Import Player of the Year award in 2017.
Minnerath is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Minnerath has played previously professionally in France (Cholet Basket and STB Le Havre), Russia (Avtodor), Spain (Blusens Monbus), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers) and NBA G League (Canton Charge).
He attended University of Detroit Mercy until 2013 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
