DAVID HUERTAS
Here is the weekly review of the top performing Puerto Rican players, who play currently abroad.

David Huertas
David Huertas
#1. This week's number one is an international swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Ole Miss, currently plays in Mexico). He could not help Fuerza Regia (31-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite Huertas' very good performance the first-placed Fuerza Regia (31-9) was edged 94-93 at home by the leading Capitanes in the North group. He was the top scorer with 25 points. Huertas also added 5 passes. Huertas has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.4ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.4apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 52.0%, 3FGP: 40.9% and FT: 82.0%. Huertas is currently a member of the Puerto Rican senior national team.

Peter Ramos
Peter Ramos
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international center Peter Ramos (222-85, currently plays in ASEAN League). He was not able to help SM Beermen (18-8) in their last game. Despite Ramos' very good performance SM Beermen was badly defeated 102-84 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Hong Kong ELL. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 13 rebounds. Ramos also added 5 assists in 33 minutes. It was SM Beermen's fourth consecutive loss in a row. It's Ramos' first season with the team. He has very impressive stats this year: 19.5ppg, 12.6rpg, 4.2apg, 2FGP: 60.9%(167-274), 3FGP: 29.9% and FT: 48.8% in 25 games he played so far. Ramos has a dual citizenship: Puerto Rican and American. He played for the Puerto Rican national team in 2016. Ramos used to play for Criollos de Caguas in Puerto Rican league.

Maurice Harkless
Maurice Harkless
#3. The Puerto Rican player who performed third best last week abroad was former international swingman Maurice Harkless (203-93, college: St.John's, currently plays in NBA). He was not able to secure a victory for the Portland Trail Blazers (50-29) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Harkless' good performance the Portland Trail Blazers (50-29) were defeated 99-90 in Detroit by the Pistons. He recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Harkless also added 3 blocks. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Harkless is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Trail Blazers' roster. He has relatively good stats this season: 7.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.3apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 57.0%(146-256), 3FGP: 27.6% and FT: 64.6%. Harkless is another player who holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. He played for the Puerto Rican national team three years ago. Strangely Harkless has never played in Puerto Rico.

Carlos Rivera
Carlos Rivera
#4. Point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra, currently plays in Mexico) is a teammate of previously mentioned David Huertas and both played together in the last Mexican LNBP game. Rivera couldn't help Fuerza Regia (31-9) in their game against Capitanes (26-13). He scored 8 points and added 8 passes in 32 minutes. Fuerza Regia was edged 94-93 on their home court in Monterrey by the leading Capitanes in the North group. This year Rivera has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 2.9rpg, 5.2apg and 1.1spg in 47 games. He is also Puerto Rican national team player.

Ramon Clemente
Ramon Clemente
#5. International power forward Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Argentina) contributed to a 3-point San Lorenzo's victory against the closely-ranked Atenas (21-17) 86-83 in the Argentinian La Liga on Wednesday night. Clemente scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. San Lorenzo de Almagra (21-1) is placed first in the La Liga. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. Clemente's overall stats this season are: 4.1ppg and 3.4rpg. He has both American and Puerto Rican nationalities. Clemente plays currently for the Puerto Rican national team. He used to play for Indios de Mayaguez in Puerto Rican league.

Wilfredo Pagan
Wilfredo Pagan
#6. Point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76, currently plays in Mexico) is a teammate of previously mentioned David Huertas. But that was another game of his team in Mexican LNBP which we would like to mention. Pagan contributed to an easy victory against the leader Capitanes (26-13) crushing them 104-78. He recorded 6 points. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group North. Fuerza Regia Monterrey (31-9) is placed first. Pagan's overall stats this season are: 4.3ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.7apg. He also holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. Pagan is a former international player as he played for the Puerto Rican senior team seventeen years ago. He used to play for Brujos de Guayama in Puerto Rican league.

Christopher Ortiz
Christopher Ortiz
#7. Former international forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, agency: Inception Sports, college: Kent St., currently plays in Finland) couldn't help Helsinki Seagulls (18-19) in their game against KTP-Basket (21-16) in the Finnish Korisliiga. Ortiz scored 9 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 37 minutes. But Helsinki Seagulls lost 73-88 in Kotka to the higher-ranked (#4) KTP-Basket. They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Ortiz has very impressive stats this year: 15.7ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.6apg in 35 games. He holds both American and Puerto Rican passports. Ortiz used to play for the Puerto Rican national team two years ago. He played also for Santurce in Puerto Rican league.

The list of other players, who all have Puerto Rican passport but never been selected to any of Puerto Rican national teams:

#1. Experienced Walter Hodge (183-PG-86, college: Florida, currently plays in Lebanon) led Homentmen to a victory over the sixth-ranked Hoops Club (6-10) 88-80 in a derby game in the Lebanese LBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Hodge had a double-double by scoring 29 points and making 11 passes. He also added 5 rebounds in 40 minutes. Homentmen Beirut (12-4) is placed second in the LBL. Hodge has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.0ppg, 3.8rpg, 7.0apg and 1.4spg in 18 games he played so far. Hodge has a dual citizenship: U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rican.

#2. Emanuel Ubilla (188-PG-86, agency: Court Side, college: Fair Dickinson, currently plays in Hungary) was the major contributor in Kaposvari's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked JP-Auto JKSE (16-9) 90-75 in the Hungarian A Division in Sunday night's game. Ubilla recorded 29 points (!!!) and had 3 steals in 34 minutes. Kaposvari KK (11-14) is placed tenth in the A Division. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Ubilla has reliable stats this year: 14.1ppg, 4.8rpg, 5.1apg and 1.4spg in 16 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Puerto Rican and American. Ubilla used to play for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rican league.

#3. Denilson Fonseca (190-G-98, currently plays in Luxembourg) managed to help Basket Esch to win against the third-ranked T71 (15-8) 72-67 in the Luxembourg Total League in Wednesday night's game. Fonseca recorded only 2 points. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Basket Esch (10-13) is placed first. Fonseca's overall stats this season are: 2.4ppg and 1.1rpg.

#4. TreVon Hughes (185-PG-87, college: Wisconsin, currently plays in ASEAN League) was the main contributor in a Saigon Heat's victory against the closely-ranked CLS Knights (15-11) 86-81 in the ASEAN League last Wednesday.
