Arella Guirantes
Puerto Rican Women's National Team head coach Jerry Batista called 19 players for their upcoming Summer commitments.
The players called are Pamela Rosado, Jennifer O'Neill, Tayra Melendez, Allison Gibson, Jazmon Gwathmey, Isalys Quinones, Sabrina Lozada, India Pagan, Michelle Gonzalez, Dayshalee Salaman, Sofia Roma, Gabriella Zapata, Arielle Gonzalez, Jada Stinson, Jacqueline Benitez, Denis Solis, Kaela Hilaire, Alana Smith and Arella Guirantes (180-G-97, college: Rutgers).
In the case of Guirantes, the national team is waiting for her confirmation since she is trying to make the Los Angeles Sparks roster.
Their upcoming commitments include a trip to Belgium in mid-May to play in an invitational tournament from May 28-30 where they expect to have 15 players. Then they play in the Women's AmeriCup in San Juan scheduled from July 11-19.
To finish up their most important year to date, the team will play in the Olympic Games starting on July 27 against China. Their group also includes Belgium and Australia.
