Knight number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 40- June 14, 2023
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Arecibo (#3, 17-18) 110-104. It allowed Quebradillas to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Quebradillas has a very solid 23-11 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Knight had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He just recently signed at Quebradillas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Kentucky star has very solid stats this year. Knight is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.4ppg. Knight is in league's top in and averages impressive 55.5% FGP. The second best player in last week's games was young American DJ Hogg (203-F-1996) of Mayaguez. Hogg had a very good evening with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Mayaguez to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Manati (#6, 11-24) 118-86. Mayaguez's 4th position in Group A has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 16-19 record. Hogg is one of the most experienced players at Mayaguez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 5.8rpg and 3.7apg. Third on the list of top players last week was American swingman James Ennis (201-F/G-1990) of Humacao (#5). Ennis showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the last week. He was a key player of Humacao, leading his team to a 108-91 easy win against the higher-ranked Bayamon (#1, 22-12). The chances of Humacao not to end season at such low position in Group B, however are less than slim as they have already lost 21 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ennis could try to bring Humacao's a little bit higher in the standings. Ennis has a very solid season. In 12 games in Puerto Rico he scored 17.8ppg. He also has 8.0rpg, 3.2apg, FGP: 53.8% and 3PT: 52.2%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Gary Browne (185-PG-1993) of Guaynabo - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists 5. Jorge Pacheco-Ortiz (188-G-1998) of Mayaguez - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists 6. Javier Mojica (189-SG-1984) of Bayamon - 33 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Walter Hodge (183-PG-1986) of Arecibo - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists 8. Jamil Wilson (201-F-1990) of Ponce - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 9. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
