Jaysean Paige gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSN

Naturalized American Shooting guard Jaysean Paige (188-SG-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for league's second-best Mets de Guaynabo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 3.
The 29-year old shooting guard had the game-high 34 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Guaynabo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Carolina (#6, 1-3) 107-95. Mets maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Puerto Rican BSN. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Guaynabo will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Paige had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He just recently signed at Mets, being already a very valuable addition to the team. West Virginia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Paige is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.3ppg. Paige is in league's top in assists (7th best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 69.7% FGP and 46.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American power forward Chris Ortiz (203-PF-1993) of Osos de Manati. Ortiz impressed basketball fans with 34 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as Osos lost that game 105-112 to Santurce (2-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next week. Ortiz is one of the most experienced players at Manati and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#8). He also registered 5.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last week was American forward Angel Matias (194-F-1992) of Cangrejeros de Santurce (#4). Matias scored 29 points. He was a key player of Cangrejeros, leading his team to a 112-105 win against Manati (2-2). Santurce needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group B. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Matias has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.8ppg (7th best). Angel Matias has also Puerto Rican passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

10. Akil Mitchell (206-C-1992) of Caguas - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
