San Giovanni keeps Gwathmey for another season

Allianz Geas Sesto San Giovanni (Serie A1) has re-signed 31-year old American guard Jazmon Gwathmey for the 2024-25 season. Gwathmey, who also holds a Puerto Rican passport, played for the team last season. In 27 Serie A1 games, she averaged 13.1ppg, 6.2rpg, 2.6apg, and 1.1spg. She was instrumental in helping the team reach the Italian Cup Semifinals. Gwathmey had a standout season and was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A1 Honorable Mention team. In the previous season (2022-23), she played for PEAC-Pecs in the Hungarian league.
In 2016, she was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA) in the second round (14th overall).
Gwathmey graduated from James Madison University and it's her ninth season in pro basketball.
She also represented Puerto Rico at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) three years ago. Gwathmey was the best scorer at the event with 18 ppg, while she added 4.3 rpg.
She is a very experienced player. Thanks to her pro career, she managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and North America) in seven different countries. Gwathmey has played professionally in Australia (Canberra Capitals), Hungary, Korea (Hana 1Q Bucheon), Puerto Rico (Atenienses), Spain (Gernika), and the WNBA (Indiana Fever and San Antonio Silver Stars).
She won the Puerto Rican BSNF championship title in 2019 among many awards. She received the All-CAA Player of the Year award back in 2016.
