San Giovanni keeps Gwathmey for another season- June 6, 2024
In 2016, she was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA) in the second round (14th overall). Gwathmey graduated from James Madison University and it's her ninth season in pro basketball. She also represented Puerto Rico at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) three years ago. Gwathmey was the best scorer at the event with 18 ppg, while she added 4.3 rpg. She is a very experienced player. Thanks to her pro career, she managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and North America) in seven different countries. Gwathmey has played professionally in Australia (Canberra Capitals), Hungary, Korea (Hana 1Q Bucheon), Puerto Rico (Atenienses), Spain (Gernika), and the WNBA (Indiana Fever and San Antonio Silver Stars). She won the Puerto Rican BSNF championship title in 2019 among many awards. She received the All-CAA Player of the Year award back in 2016.
