Avenida signs Arella Guirantes

Arella Guirantes

Perfumerias Avenida Salamanca (LF Endesa) has signed 26-year-old American (who also holds a Puerto Rican passport) point guard Arella Guirantes (181cm-1997, college: Rutgers) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Guirantes played last season at Beretta Famila Schio in the Italian Serie A1. In 27 games, she averaged 12.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.7apg, and 1.1spg. She helped her team win the cup and reach the league final. Guirantes also played 16 games in the Euroleague, where she posted impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 5.2rpg, and 2.4apg. She played a key role in her team reaching the quarterfinals. In the 2023-24 season, she was named to the Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Honorable Mention team.
Three years ago, she was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in the second round (22nd overall) of the draft.
Guirantes graduated from Rutgers University in 2021 and it's her fourth season in pro basketball.
She also represented Puerto Rico at the Olympic Games Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Medellin (Colombia) last year.
Guirantes is a quite experienced player. She has played professionally in Hungary (Miskolc), Ukraine (Budivelnyk), and WNBA (LA Sparks and Seattle Storm). Guirantes played for Texas Tech University for one year.
