Cooks' 35-point game gives her Player of the Week award

26-year old American power forward Sidney Cooks (193-F/C-1998) put on an amazing game in the last week for Athleticas de San German and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 2.
She had the game-high 35 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for San German in her team's victory, helping them to beat Carolina (#8, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-77. Thanks to this victory Athleticas moved-up to the 6th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. San German is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Cooks had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Athleticas's top player in her first season with the team. Seton Hall University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cooks is in league's top in points (2nd best: 26.5ppg) and averages solid 2.0bpg,59.4% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last week was Selena Lott (180-G-1999) of Gigantes de Carolina. She is American guard in her first season at Carolina. In the last game Lott recorded an impressive 21 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Gigantes was edged by Moca (0-2) 79-77. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next week. Lott is a newcomer at Carolina and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#6). Her other stats are also decent: 8.3rpg and 6.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Ariana Moorer (172-G-1991) of Pollitas de Isabela (#4). Moorer showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the last week. Despite Moorer's great performance the Pollitas lost 73-80 to #3 ranked Santurce. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Isabela has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Moorer also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Moorer has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (4th best) and assists with 10.5apg (best passer).
