Kaela Hilaire gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF (by Hoops Agents)

American Point guard Kaela Hilaire (157-PG-1998) had a great game in the last week for league's leader Atenienses de Manati and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 4.
The 26-year old playmaker got a double-double of 18 points and 21 assists, while her team outclassed Morovis (3-1) with 28-point margin 105-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Atenienses to jump to the first place in the Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Manati has a very solid 3-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Hilaire turned to be Atenienses's top player in her first season with the team. Stony Brook University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hilaire is league's best passer with 12.0apg. Hilaire is in league's top in and averages solid 2.8spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American forward Akilah Bethel (183-F-1993) of Athleticas de San German. Bethel impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course she led Athleticas to another comfortable win 99-80 over slightly higher-ranked Isabela (#4, 2-1) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed San German to move up to 5th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bethel is a newcomer at San German and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last week was American Juicy Landrum (173-G-1997) of Patriotas de Lares (#8). Landrum showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last week. She was a key player of Lares, leading her team to a 75-69 win against Moca (#9, 0-3). Lares can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Landrum has individually a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.8apg (8th best).

7. Naomi Davenport (180-G/F) of Isabela - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
8. India Pagan (185-F-1999) of Manati - 17 points and 8 rebounds
9. Geovana Rios (168-G) of San German - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Nicolette Gilday (175-G-1992) of Manati - 22 points and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
